You finally got that book done or you won that award. Now you want to share your message with the whole world. How do you reach a wider audience? How about Internet Radio? Sounds great, but how do you do it? It's very easy. This series will tell you how to find great shows, how to get booked on them, and how to give a great interview when you are there.

Finding Shows Tip#1. Know Your Audience Pt 1
The first thing you need to know for a public speaking career is who your audience is. A speech on temperance might go over well at an AA meeting, but not so well down at the local bar. What is your message? Who wants to hear it? Not who needs to hear it, but who wants to? Most public speakers are trying to sell something- their latest book, a class or program, or even just an idea. In order to sell, you need a receptive audience. Who wants what you are talking about?

Finding Shows Tip#2. Know Your Audience Pt 2
Write down as many types of people as you can that fit your audience. Do you speak to a certain career path? A particular class or gender? If you wrote a book about finance for women, then you are looking for women who want financial help. If your program is to help entrepreneurs, then your audience might be both people who have great ideas but haven't started, and people who already have a small business that they want to grow. Look at your list. Who is your most likely audience? Which group do you most relate to?

Finding Shows Tip#3. Find Your Audience Pt 1
Now that you know what type(s) of audience you speak to, where do you find them? First, Google your key words, like "women finance" or "entrepreneur." What kinds of sites come up? This should tell you something about what sites people using those keywords look at. What kinds of sites are there? Is this your target audience? If not, find some other keywords and try those. Also look at how many sites come up. Is there a wide audience for your keywords, and thus for your subject?

Finding Shows Tip#4. Find Your Audience Pt 2
What sites cater to your audience, and what are they offering that people want? How is what you are offering better or different than that? Try different keywords until you have two or three that get you to your prime audience. So what does all of this have to do with finding a radio show? Easy. There are hundreds of internet radio shows out there. What you want to find are the right ones for your message, so first you have to know who your audience is.

Finding Shows Tip#5. Finding Your Target Shows Pt 1
Now that you know your audience and what they want to know, you can find the radio shows that talk to that audience. One of the most popular sites for internet radio is Blogtalk.com. You can also Google your target keywords with "radio" added to find other places that have shows.
